InBody 770 body composition.

Weight is one number, and it hides almost everything. InBody separates it into its parts — fat mass, muscle mass and the distribution of water through the body — in three to five minutes, and returns a detailed report that a weight-loss or body-contouring plan can actually be built on.

What it measures

The parts that a single weight hides.

01

Fat mass

How much of your body weight is fat — measured as its own quantity rather than inferred from a number on a scale.

Composition
02

Muscle mass

How much of your weight is muscle. Read alongside fat mass, it gives the ratio that actually describes body shape.

Composition
03

Body water

The distribution of water through the body, and whether it sits in balance — the parameter most easily mistaken for fat on a scale.

Balance
04

Body pH

The body's overall pH level, recorded as part of the same analysis.

Overall reading
05

Metabolic rate

Basal metabolic rate — the energy your body uses at rest, and the figure a nutrition plan is sensibly built around.

BMR
The mechanism

A current, and what it meets.

The device uses bioelectrical impedance analysis to assess body composition. Different tissues resist a passing current differently, and it is that difference — not your weight — which the analysis reads and turns into a detailed report.

Step · One

The measurement

You stand on the device and hold the handles. The analysis runs in three to five minutes, without discomfort of any kind.

Non-invasive · painless
Step · Two

The report

Fat mass, muscle mass, water distribution, body pH and basal metabolic rate are returned together in a detailed report.

Fat · muscle · water · pH · BMR
Step · Three

The same conditions

Repeated under the same conditions each time, the analysis makes progress across a programme visible rather than assumed.

Progress you can follow
Who it's for

For a plan that needs a starting point.

The analysis is suitable for different age groups, and is as useful at the start of a programme as it is halfway through one.

  • Want to lose weight or improve their body shape
  • Follow a fitness or healthy-lifestyle programme
  • Want to understand their body composition better
  • Are undergoing other body-contouring treatments
  • Want progress measured rather than guessed at
Main benefits

Why composition beats weight.

01

Accurate analysis

A genuine analysis of body composition rather than a single figure on a scale.

02

Fat-to-muscle ratio

The ratio between fat and muscle — the reading that actually describes body shape.

03

Water balance

An evaluation of body water balance, which weight alone routinely misreads.

04

Monitoring

Results followed over time, so a programme can be adjusted while it is running.

05

Personalised programme

A basis for a programme built around your composition, not around an average.

06

Fast and comfortable

Three to five minutes, standing, with nothing invasive involved.

The analysis

Five minutes, standing still.

Detail What it means At a glance
01Duration Between three and five minutes from start to finish. 3 — 5 min
02Comfort Non-invasive and painless. You stand on the device; nothing else is required of you. Painless
03Preparation No special preparation is required, though measurements are best taken under the same conditions each time. Same conditions
04Frequency Every two to four weeks is the usual interval for following progress. Every 2 — 4 weeks
05Area The entire body. Whole body
What you receive

A detailed report, and a baseline.

The results are presented as a detailed report rather than a headline figure — a comprehensive overview of composition that later measurements are set against.

  • OverviewA comprehensive overview of your body composition at the time of measurement.
  • A basisThe basis for developing a weight-loss or exercise plan that fits your actual composition.
  • ProgressClear monitoring of progress when the analysis is repeated at intervals.
  • GuidancePersonalised recommendations from the specialist who reads the report with you.

In the room

Shoes off, and five minutes.

You step onto the device, hold the handles, and stand still. The analysis takes three to five minutes, there is nothing to feel, and the report is ready as soon as it finishes.

Then your specialist goes through it with you — what the fat-to-muscle ratio describes, where the water balance sits, and what a nutrition, activity or treatment programme should look like from here.

Frequently asked

Questions our patients actually ask.

Does it only measure body weight?

No. It provides a detailed analysis of body composition — fat mass, muscle mass, water distribution, body pH and basal metabolic rate.

Is it accurate?

Yes. The device provides objective data when used under the correct conditions, which is why we ask for consistent conditions between measurements.

How often should the analysis be performed?

Every two to four weeks is the usual interval when progress is being monitored.

Is it painful?

No. The analysis is painless, and takes three to five minutes.

Can it be combined with other procedures?

Yes. It is often used alongside other body-contouring programmes at the clinic.

A few honest notes
·

InBody analysis is not a treatment method.

·

Results may be affected by the body's current condition, including hydration and food intake.

·

Measurements are best taken under the same conditions each time.

·

The results should be interpreted by a qualified specialist.
