A barrier that needs repair.

When the skin's protective barrier and structural integrity have been compromised — by sun, chemicals, wrong products or over-treatment — the answer is repair, not more intervention.

What it is

A compromised barrier, structural fatigue.

Skin may be considered damaged when its protective barrier and structural integrity have been compromised — through aggressive external factors or internal causes.

The result is skin that becomes more sensitive, drier, and slower to restore than it should be. Sun exposure, chemicals, unsuitable skincare or over-aggressive procedures are the most common triggers.

"Damaged skin does not need more active ingredients. It needs less noise, more repair, and time to rebuild what was disturbed."
How it shows up

Signs patients actually describe.

The wording changes but the pattern is consistent. Each of these is a clinical signal we listen for during a consultation.

01

“Dryness”

Dryness. Recorded during the diagnostic assessment and mapped to a matching pathway.

02

“Irritation”

Irritation. Recorded during the diagnostic assessment and mapped to a matching pathway.

03

“Itching”

Itching. Recorded during the diagnostic assessment and mapped to a matching pathway.

04

“Pain”

Pain. Recorded during the diagnostic assessment and mapped to a matching pathway.

05

“Redness”

Redness. Recorded during the diagnostic assessment and mapped to a matching pathway.

06

“It feels different, even before it looks different.”

It feels different, even before it looks different.. Recorded during the diagnostic assessment and mapped to a matching pathway.

Why it happens

Five drivers to consider.

It is rarely one thing. The pathway follows whichever driver is most active.

TypeClinical nameWhat it looks likePathway
01Sun damage.Chronic UV exposure breaks down elastin and disrupts the skin's natural repair rhythm.SPF + biorev
02Chemical aggression.Overuse of acids, retinoids or exfoliants strips lipids from the outer layer.Barrier reset
03Post-procedure compromise.Aggressive resurfacing or repeated treatments without recovery weaken the tissue.Rest + repair
04Product irritation.Cleansers, alcohols and perfumes trigger low-grade inflammation over time.Gentle regimen
05Systemic factors.Diet, medication, hormonal shifts and dehydration all lower resilience from within.Multi-pathway
Diagnostics first

Read the damage, rebuild the barrier.

A damaged-skin visit begins with a careful reading of what has actually happened to the barrier — the pathway is calibrated to recovery, not more intervention.

How we treat

Pathways, matched.

One aim: address the driver, not just the surface. The lead protocol works from within; supporting pathways deepen or extend the result.

Book a consultation

Begin with a diagnosis.

A Beauté Concept doctor examines your skin, identifies what is driving the concern and designs your protocol — from a home routine to an in-clinic course.
