Face · Ultrasound · SibUS-In · Filler mapping

Ultrasound beneath the surface.

SibUS-In is an ultrasound diagnostic system that shows, in real time, what lies under the skin — the location, amount and condition of filler, and the vessels and nerves around it. Used before an injection it makes the plan precise; used afterwards it answers the question no external view can.

What it shows

Four things the eye cannot see.

01

Existing filler

Where previously injected filler actually sits, how much of it there is, and what condition it is in — assessed rather than assumed from records or memory.

Real-time imaging
02

Blood vessels

The vessels beneath the skin in the area being treated — the structures an injector most needs to know the position of before beginning.

Real-time imaging
03

Nerves

Nerves running below the surface, visible in the same real-time image as everything else around them.

Real-time imaging
04

Depth & placement

The layer at which material is sitting — the difference between a plan drawn on the surface and one drawn through it.

Planning
The mechanism

Sound, returned as an image.

The device uses ultrasound waves to produce a clear image of the structures beneath the skin. Nothing is injected and nothing is cut; the image simply appears, in real time, while your specialist moves the probe across the area in question.

Step · One

The waves

Ultrasound waves are directed through the skin and the returning signal is rendered as an image — live, and without contact beyond the probe itself.

Non-invasive · painless
Step · Two

The reading

The location of any filler is identified and its condition assessed, along with the vessels and nerves in the surrounding area.

Fillers · vessels · nerves
Step · Three

The plan

Further treatment steps are planned against what the image shows, rather than against an assumption about what is underneath.

Safer, more controlled results
Who it's for

For anyone injecting, or already injected.

The assessment is used both as a diagnostic step in its own right and as a safety measure around injectable treatment.

  • Already have dermal fillers in place
  • Are planning to undergo filler injections
  • Have noticed what may be filler migration
  • Want a safer and more controlled treatment approach
  • Are unsure what was injected previously, or where
Main benefits

Why we look before.

01

Prevents complications

Seeing the anatomy of the area before treatment is the most direct way to avoid problems in it.

02

Safer procedures

The safety of aesthetic procedures improves when the plan is drawn against a real image.

03

Precise planning

Injection planning becomes a matter of placement rather than estimation.

04

Finds existing filler

The location of previously injected filler can be assessed — including filler you did not receive here.

05

Real time

The image appears live, so the specialist can move through the area rather than work from a single frame.

06

Before or after

It can be performed before an injectable treatment, after one, or on its own.

The assessment

Half an hour at most, and entirely painless.

Detail What it means At a glance
01Duration Between fifteen and thirty minutes, depending on how much of the face is being assessed. 15 — 30 min
02Comfort Non-invasive and painless. No anaesthesia is needed at any point. Painless
03Preparation None required. No special preparation is needed before the assessment. No prep
04Timing It can be performed before or after injectable treatment, depending on your situation. Before or after
05Areas The face, the lips, the chin and cheeks, and other areas when required. Face · Lips · Chin · Cheeks
What you receive

A view of what is actually there.

The assessment ends with a clear picture of the treated area and a treatment plan drawn against it — which is a different thing from a plan drawn on the surface of the skin.

  • VisualisationClear visualisation of where filler has been placed and what condition it is in.
  • PlanningSafer and more precise planning of any treatment that follows.
  • RiskA reduced risk of complications, because the anatomy of the area is known before work begins.
  • AnswersA direct answer where migration is suspected — seen on screen rather than inferred.

Filler location and condition · seen, not assumed
In the room

A probe, a screen, and no needles.

A little gel, the probe moved slowly across the area, and the image appears on the screen beside you as it goes. Nothing is injected during the assessment itself, and nothing is uncomfortable about it.

No special aftercare is required. Where an injectable treatment is performed at the same visit, the relevant post-treatment instructions for that treatment apply as usual.

Frequently asked

Questions our patients actually ask.

Is this a treatment?

No. It is a diagnostic assessment. SibUS-In is used to see and plan; the treatment itself, if there is one, is separate.

Is it painful?

No. It is painless and does not require anaesthesia.

When is the assessment recommended?

It may be recommended before or after filler injections, depending on your individual situation. Your specialist will advise which applies to you.

Can previously injected filler be detected?

Yes. The device allows the specialist to assess its location — including filler injected elsewhere, or some time ago.

Is it safe?

Yes. It is a safe and non-invasive diagnostic method.
